Cacao Ceremony
Join Fay as she performs a Cacao ceremony in a sacred space
Cacao Ceremony
Fay holds the Cacao plant in sacred space and ceremonial settings. Cacao works deeply into the area of the heart facilitating an energetic opening and clearing of mind. Cacao has a natural high feeling that opens the doorway into earthly presence of spirit within the body without hallucinating. It's a grounding medicine for healing and works beautifully with movement, meditation, dance and breathwork, while opening you as a channel for creativity, expression and a shift of perception (which makes it good for writing and painting also). Cacao is an ancient plant medicine used by the South American’s (the Maya) for thousands of years.
Fay has the honour of carrying some beautiful medicine songs. She sings songs originating from all around the world. Often songs are in Sanskrit or another language like Spanish or Portuguese.

Fay holds ancient Cacao plant in prayer,
with songs and beautiful flower altars.
to open the heart to feel,
the mind to clear, and the body to steady.
From this place we arrive into sacred communion with self/spirit.
After an opening ceremony calling in the four directions, a warm cacao drink will be served. At this point participants will set their intentions with a lighting of candle. This is a good opportunity to think of what you would like to let go of and what you would like to call in for your life.
This is a good place to mark a change or an incitation of some kind (to mark a new stage in life) or beginning of a new chapter. Of course these changes come in subtle forms and not always recognisable to us but this ceremony can also simply be a space to rest into; and see what arises.
Often coming together is a good reason to be in ceremony and Cacao has been used for thousands of years with the purpose to simply come together and drink.
Fay will offer songs into the space to honour the prayer with Cacao and invite our voices to sing together, a beautiful way to activate cacao into the heart. Next there will be yoga, movement, and breath work. Fay teaches a Vinyasa Yoga class which to her means to move dynamically with the breath, in a devotional way, with the body being an altar. to honour and respect, while placing awareness and acknowledgement of feeling down the central axis of the spine. Fay will finish the sessions with a Sound Bath with a moving Gong though the space. Fay will then bring everyone together to sing and close the session.
This is an open invitation and no previous experience is required. You will acquire skills and methods through practice that help you shift orientation, feeling and perspective that you can incorporate into your life off the mat and out of ceremony. Fay embraces the old tradition of the Lakota people, a Native Indian Tribe from Dakota. She does her best to honour the linage and practices around the rites for ceremony while creatively modernising where appropriate for the current day around medicine , ceremonial spaces and ceremonial practices.
